Those who are not resident in any EU Member State are entitled, with a firearms transport certificate issued by the customs authority of NTCA, to bring their firearms and associated ammunition, as well as the main body of the firearm (firearm component), into Hungary for hunting or sport shooting competitions, to take them out of the country, or to transport them through the country, provided that their stay in Hungary does not exceed 90 days.
Yes, the transit of firearms, firearm components, air guns classified as firearms, ammunition, ammunition components and silencers through Hungary is also subject to authorisation; this applies even if they are entering the country directly from another Member State. In such cases, the National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) issues a firearms transport certificate, for which an administrative service fee is payable.
Yes, in all cases, you must declare and present both the firearm and the accompanying ammunition at the European Union border. At the airport, you must use the red corridor and present the items.
Yes. An administrative service fee of 4,050 forints is payable for the issue of a firearms transport certificate.
The fee must be paid per person, primarily in cash and in forints, but may also be settled by bank transfer. The administrative fee cannot be paid by credit card.
